Weekend at Sealine Beach Resort (Mesaieed)

My cousin had invited us for an overnight stay at the Sealine Beach Resort in Mesaieed to celebrate the championship win of their basketball team. It had also served as been a family get-together to bond with their mom and kids who are currently spending the Philippine summer vacation here in Qatar. 

Sealine Beach Resort is the first and most popular resort hotel here in Qatar. It is owned and managed by the government's Qatar National Hotels. The resort hotel has got private rooms, chalets and private villas for accommodations. Apart from the beach there are also two swimming pools and offer several water and other sports activities.

I just found out that the roads towards the resort had already been completed, but instead of making our way more easily, I think the new roads and intersections had made us more confused. It used to be so easy going there as you just have to follow the road under construction, but now the different directions have already been opened and as we reached Mesaieed at about 9PM already, had made a couple of wrong turns. 

Check in time at the resort is at 3PM but most of us could not make it early since it was a Thursday and most everyone would still be coming from work. By 3PM we have all just reached home and preparing to leave. My brother was not able to get the other car which he had borrowed from his office so we had to rent an additional car which became available only at about 6PM. After we had collected the car from the rental we received a call from my cousin asking for some liquor, so hubby and I still had to run to the liquor shop to get some beers. We were able to get back by 7:30 but then had to grab the ingredients for barbeque from the supermarket. After doing all the errands, it was maybe about 8:30PM already. Then we headed to Sealine...

We reached the resort at about 10PM, tough luck, the swimming pool had already closed. But did you think it would stop the kids from their attempt to swimming? Not in their books, and they were so determined. Our Lauren and cousin Oel somehow convinced my brother to take them to the beach. The idea is actually to just walk by the beach,but well they have other things in mind! They spent about 15 minutes on the beach and then finally ended up on the outdoor faucet where they have very eagerly took turns to shower. It took us about an hour before we finally managed to keep them away!
The next day, everyone woke up early and set out to go swimming I didn't. I just joined the hubby in taking pictures around the area. He's trying out the SLR. They Fam got out of the pool by around 10:30am and then we all prepared to go home.
All in all it was a relaxing weekend in the company of family and friends!
